What you're reporting here is exactly my problem. I've tried every suggestion in the book and still can't get index.php to stop redirecting to the 'under construction' page index.html. I tried even your example and still no luck. What else must I do? Here's what my .htaccess looks like:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

Do I need to change anything here in order for your solution to work. I'm desperate.

Thanks!

Thanks for your comment. I've seen countless pixelmator tutorials so I know what can be done. I'm not dissing it in general, or even not complaining too much about the lack of features. What bothered me more is the lack of polish for an app in which every new version takes months. Too few testers I guess. But all in all I do like Pixelmator, as it was seen in my other posts before this one, I posted this to show a healthy view. I praised the software before so now it's time to find some flaws as well. Cheers :)

Your review made me smile. It is amazing to see How many image editors think that Pixelmator should be able to do exactly the same as Photoshop. While there are clear signes both apps are aimed at different user groups. First there is the prize. Can you expect the same functionalit in every aspect from an app that costs only a fraction of Photoshop? Logical answer is no. Can you expect an app that is 5 years old to have the same functionality as an app that has been in development for decades? Logical answer is no considering that both apps are made by different software developers. Do you think that an app that is promoted as being for the rest of us is aimed at people who are die hard professionals for whom time is money? Logical answer is no.

It is flattering, but trying out Pixelmator and then expecting you can work like you were used to, causes off course frustrations. Better would have been to acknowledge it and dive into it with an open mind. A visit to http://pixelmatortutorials.net would have shown all the wonderful things that are possible with Pixelmator. And you'll be amazed that if you have the image editing skills and forget the ways of the over bloated photoshop, that Pixelmator is a more then an all right tool.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Sadly I've been to London a few days ago and some of his works I remember seeing a year ago are painted over now. Good idea for an app though if it's often updated.

We've developed the Banksy London Tour app for iPhone - find it on the app store.
Visit the 26 locations in London to see his remaining/new pieces.
